Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Sonoma County is seeking self-motivated and ambitious team members!
Mr. Rooter of Sonoma County is a company built on the values of honesty, integrity, and customer focus and are looking for an Underground Technician Laborer to fill a full time position within our team.
You may have never thought about plumbing as a career, but it’s a job that pays extremely well! Plumbing is a very important service work that’s always needed, even in times of economic uncertainty. As a general laborer for the plumbing service industry, you’ll be doing something that matters!
An underground technician laborer will be responsible for all ground work involved in installing the water, gas, sewer, septic and storm drain pipe. As a laborer, you should be prepared to work in any type of weather conditions. In addition, you should be energetic and willing to learn how to get the job done the correct way while focusing on the safety aspects of the job.
With that being said, you do not have to have any experience in this type of construction or plumbing, although it's a plus. We are willing to train laborers as long as they are willing to put in the time and effort.
WEEKLY/DAILY HOURS TO FLUCTUATE WITH JOB VOLUME, still eligible for benefits of full-time employee if hours drop below 40 for the week.
The successful applicant will:
- Perform all repairs and replacements to code
- Desire to work for a Friendly Family owned Business.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and office personnel
- Comply with all safety standards and processes
- Be responsible to follow up on calls needed
- Be accountable for maintaining cleanliness of equipment, truck and job site
- Be accountable for maintaining accurate and quality inventory on truck
- Present a professional image by arriving on time, wearing company uniforms, and being neat, and well-groomed
- Work very well as a part of a crew/ team
- Assist as required in all manual labor aspects of the project as directed by the Crew leader, Foreman, or Supervisor
- Assist crew members in placing underground pipes, conduits, manual labor and shovel work, operate power tools
Qualifications:
- Must have excellent customer skills, desire and ability to exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and pass drug test
- Possess basic written and verbal communication skills
- Can work as a self-starter to complete tasks independently and as a team member
- Capability to maintain confidentiality of customers and the business
- Ability and willingness to regularly follow up with management
- Eager to learn and assist with additional tasks and responsibilities as required
- Valid driver's license with clean record preferred

Compensation:
-Starting range from $20.00 or more depending on experience. Plus periodic bonuses.
Physical Demands -- Moving tools and equipment in and out of customer's homes, stand, walk, sit, talk or listen for long periods of time. Employee must occasionally lift / move up to 200lbs, load and stack heavy boxes. Must be able to work with your hands, bend over and kneel.
